The National Handicraft Center on South
Park Street in the Fort George area of Belize City is a
one-stop shopping spot for local Belizean products. Visitors
will find a colorful array of products like black coral
and shell jewelry, oil and acrylic paintings on canvas,
beautifully carved Zericote (a dark two-toned wood) sculptures,
intricately woven straw baskets, traditional herbal remedies,
jars of home-grown fruit jams and jellies, and Belize’s
famous hot sauces. Visitors are sure to find that little
piece of Belize they want to take home.
